Senior BI Developer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our data team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions using the Microsoft BI stack. You will work with a variety of data sources to create data models, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data models, dashboards, and reports using Power BI and other visualization tools, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Build and maintain data warehouses and ETL pipelines using SQL Server, SSIS, and Python (Pandas, NumPy), integrating data from multiple sources like SQL databases, spreadsheets, and external APIs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into efficient and user-friendly BI solutions.
- Optimize query performance and monitor the overall health of data pipelines and BI tools to meet performance benchmarks.
- Document BI processes, provide training on dashboard usage, and promote best practices in data visualization and reporting.
- Continuously explore new tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance the organization’s BI capabilities.
Requirements:
- Strong experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (Power BI, SSIS, SSAS Tabular, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in T-SQL for complex data queries, transformation, and manipulation.
- Experience with Python and its data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy) for ETL tasks.
- In-depth understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with data visualization principles and effective dashboard design.
- Experience with performance tuning of queries and databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Kafka, Hive, or Spark.
- Experience with SQL Server administration tasks.
