Business planning & performance specialist

Job description:

We are looking for a sharp and disciplined  Business Finance Planning Specialist who can take ownership of our financial performance tracking and business planning cycles. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys diving deep into the mechanics of a business to drive smarter decision-making. 

Responsibilities:

Business Plan Alignment & Onboarding:

• Quickly understand and internalize the company's business model, unit economics, and growth levers.
• Develop a working knowledge of all major profit contributors and cost centers.

Performance Monitoring & Control:

• Monitor financial performance daily and weekly, identifying and analyzing deviations from the plan.
• Provide actionable insights to relevant stakeholders to ensure performance stays on track.

Business Plan Maintenance:

• Update and refine the company’s rolling business plan monthly in coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Adjust forecasts based on actual performance, market changes, and internal initiatives.

Board Meeting Support:

• Collaborate with leadership to design and prepare comprehensive business plans and decks for trimester board meetings.
• Translate financial data into strategic insights and presentations.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with the operations, product, and marketing teams to ensure alignment between financial plans and execution on the ground.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of business and finance.
• Proven experience in FP&A, business planning, or strategy roles (ideally in high-growth startups or tech environments).
• Advanced in Excel and Google Sheets.
