Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure PostgreSQL for OLTP and OLAP systems
• Optimize queries and indexes to enhance performance
• Monitor PostgreSQL servers and identify performance bottlenecks
• Manage replication and high-availability strategies
• Analyze and resolve issues related to locking, deadlocks, bloating, and I/O performance
• Tune Autovacuum settings to maintain database efficiency
• Develop and implement backup & recovery strategies
• Utilize monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, pg_stat_statements, and pgAdmin
• Contribute to database CI/CD process improvements

 

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Expertise in tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis
• Deep understanding of replication (Streaming, Logical) and high availability strategies
•  Experience in PostgreSQL monitoring using professional tools
• Strong troubleshooting & root cause analysis skills for complex database issues
• Knowledge of backup & recovery and disaster recovery planning
• Familiarity with scalable architectures and techniques like partitioning & sharding
• Experience with connection pooling tools like PgBouncer
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker for cloud-native database management (a plus)
