Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Responsibilities:

Database Installation and Configuration:

·         Install and configure Oracle database software.

·         Ensure proper setup and optimization of database instances.

Performance Monitoring and Tuning:

·         Monitor and analyze database performance.

·         Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

·         Implement tuning strategies to enhance system performance.

Backup and Recovery:

·         Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.

·         Perform regular database backups and ensure data integrity.

Security and Compliance:

·         Implement and maintain database security measures.

·         Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

·         Diagnose and resolve database-related issues.

·         Provide timely and effective solutions to technical problems.

Database Upgrades and Patching:

·         Plan and execute database upgrades.

·         Apply patches and updates as needed.

Documentation:

·         Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and processes.

·         Develop and update standard operating procedures.


Collaboration:

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators.

·         Provide guidance and support to junior team members.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

•         Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
•         3+ years of experience in Oracle database administration.
•         Expertise in database architecture, performance optimization, and disaster recovery.
•         Oracle certifications (e.g., OCA, OCP) are a plus.
•         Experience with PLSQL development, Oracle Data guard, Linux and bash scripting. 
•         Capable analytical and problem-solving skills.
•         Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
