Senior Linux Administrator

Job Overview: The Senior Linux Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Linux systems. This role involves optimizing system performance, deploying software and security updates, and ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale Linux environments and will play a crucial role in supporting our mission-critical services.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Manage and maintain Linux servers, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
•    Perform regular system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
•    Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and application software.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
•    Conduct system performance tuning and ensure optimal system performance.
•    Implement and manage security policies and procedures to safeguard the company’s IT infrastructure.
•    Collaborate with development teams to deploy applications and manage continuous integration and deployment processes.
•    Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
•    Manage backup and disaster recovery plans and processes.
•    Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements:
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•    5+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator or in a similar role.
•    Proficiency with Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
•    Strong experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
•    Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (e.g., OpenStack).
•    Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
•    Knowledge of network protocols, services, and security (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, SSL).
•    Proficient in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, Perl, or similar languages.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills.
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
