Overview: The Logistics Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support senior logistics managers in making informed decisions. This role focuses on optimizing logistics operations, reducing costs, and improving overall efficiency within the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, operations excellence, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various sources within the supply chain, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Utilize statistical and analytical tools to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Reporting and Insights: Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Provide insights on cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and supply chain operations.
- Operational Improvement: Work closely with the logistics team to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in current processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for operational excellence, focusing on cost reduction, process optimization, and service level improvement.
- Assist in the design and implementation of logistics projects and initiatives to enhance performance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planning, sales and marketing, fulfillment and finance, to ensure alignment of logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear and concise information to support decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in logistics and supply chain management.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects, to drive efficiency and effectiveness in logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience in business analysis, logistics, supply chain management, or operations excellence.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt).
- Experience with ERP systems and logistics management software.
