Data Base Administrator Specialis

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our database systems to ensure high availability and performance. The DBA Specialist will play a critical role in data management, backup, recovery, and performance tuning while collaborating with other teams to support business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) in various environments.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply patches and upgrades as necessary.
• Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Optimize and tune database queries and structure for improved performance.
• Ensure database security through access controls, encryption, and compliance with data governance policies.
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support application development and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Create and maintain database documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
• Conduct capacity planning and database growth forecasting to meet future business requirements.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices related to database management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS.
• Strong expertise in SQL and database performance tuning and optimization.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery techniques and best practices.
• Familiarity with database security practices and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Database certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and data warehousing solutions.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
