Job Overview:
The Home Electronics Vertical Director is responsible for leading the commercial strategy, growth, and profitability of the home electronics category. This role focuses on driving product assortment, sales performance, and market competitiveness while maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the home electronics market and a proven track record of driving category growth through data-driven decision-making and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Strategy & Development: Define and execute a comprehensive strategy for the home electronics vertical, aligning with overall business objectives to increase market share, revenue, and profitability.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Develop and nurture relationships with top suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure a competitive product offering that meets consumer demand.
- Assortment Planning: Oversee product assortment and lifecycle planning, ensuring a balanced and competitive portfolio that aligns with market trends and consumer needs.
- Pricing & Promotion Strategy: Design pricing, promotional, and markdown strategies to optimize sales and profitability, leveraging data insights and market analysis.
- Sales Performance & Analysis: Regularly review category performance through data analysis, monitor KPIs, and develop action plans to address sales trends, margin improvement, and inventory turnover.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams in Marketing, E-commerce, Supply Chain, and Finance to create a cohesive and effective go-to-market strategy for the home electronics category.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a results-driven and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
- Market Insights & Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activity in the home electronics space, utilizing insights to shape and adjust category strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in category management, product management, or a related role, with a focus on home electronics or consumer electronics.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive strategic decisions.
- Proven negotiation and vendor management skills, with a track record of building and maintaining productive supplier relationships.
- Ability to think strategically and execute operationally, balancing both high-level vision and day-to-day execution.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a team of category or product managers.
