Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Sales and Merchandising Manager to spearhead sales strategies and merchandising excellence in the on-demand FMCG sector. This role requires a strong focus on leveraging data to optimize product visibility, maximize sales, maximize profit & margin, and align inventory with dynamic customer demands. The ideal candidate will excel at using data-driven insights to make strategic decisions and drive operational efficiency in quick commerce and dark store environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Demand Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans tailored to the unique demands of quick commerce and dark store operations.
- Forecast product demand accurately to ensure optimal inventory levels, and meet sales target.
- Identify and implement promotional campaigns, sales initiatives, and pricing strategies to boost revenue and margins.
Merchandising Excellence:
- Design and implement visually appealing and high-performing product placements for online carousels and featured sections.
- Optimize merchandising strategies to enhance user experience, increase click rates, and maximize conversion.
- Continuously analyze product performance and recommend adjustments to improve visibility and sales outcomes.
- Collaborate with category managers to curate and refine product assortments based on customer preferences, market trends, and seasonal opportunities.
- Monitor category profitability and recommend actions to enhance margins while meeting customer expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Marketing, Sourcing, and Operations teams to align sales and merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.
- Ensure seamless coordination for assortment, promotions, and stock replenishments.
Data-Driven Insights:
- Leverage analytics tools to monitor sales trends, margin, inventory turnover, and customer behavior.
- Use data to provide actionable insights that enhance merchandising strategies and sales effectiveness.
Process Optimization:
- Develop and maintain efficient workflows to streamline inventory management, order fulfillment, and promotional execution.
- Implement and manage tools or systems to improve sales forecasting and inventory accuracy.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor merchandising and sales teams to achieve performance goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative solutions to drive growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 2+ years in sales, merchandising, or category management roles, preferably in FMCG or quick commerce sectors.
