Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:
 

Fiber Optic Installation and Deployment:

Meeting weekly installation target according to performance agreement KPIs
Conduct site surveys and assess the feasibility of fiber optic installations
Oversee the physical installation of fiber optic cables, including underground, aerial, and in-building deployments
Oversee termination and splicing of fiber optic cables using specialized tools and techniques
Test and commission newly installed fiber optic networks to ensure proper functionality
Fiber Optic Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fiber optic equipment and components
Coordinate with network operations teams to ensure efficient fault isolation and restoration of service
Documentation and Record-keeping:

Maintain detailed documentation of all fiber optic installations, configurations, and maintenance activities
Create and update as-built drawings, schematics, and fiber optic cable route maps
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for fiber optic network management
Prepare comprehensive reports on the performance, reliability, and capacity of the fiber optic infrastructure
Project Management and Collaboration:

Collaborate with project managers, vendors, network architects, and other stakeholders to plan and execute fiber optic deployment projects
Provide technical guidance and expertise during the design and implementation phases of fiber optic projects
Coordinate with construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth and timely project delivery
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT,CPG, network operations, and customer service, to address fiber optic-related issues and requirements
Continuous Learning and Professional Development:

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in fiber optic technology, industry standards, and best practices
Participate in training programs, workshops, and certifications to enhance technical skills and knowledge
Contribute to the development of fiber optic-related policies, procedures, and training materials within the organization
Share knowledge and expertise with junior technicians and team members to foster a culture of continuous learning
 

Job Requirements: 
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising others.
Experience working in a medium organization.

Bachelor Degree in (telecommunications, electronics, electricity, computers) or related
