About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Hardware Engineer to join our ICT team. As a Hardware Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of servers and storage. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our mission-critical systems.

 

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the procurement team to select and source server and storage hardware components.
- Installation and deployment of server and storage systems.
- Ensure hardware is installed, cabled, and configured according to industry best practices and security standards.
- Conduct initial testing to verify proper system functionality.
- Perform routine hardware maintenance and upgrades, including component replacements and firmware updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware-related issues, diagnose failures, and implement timely solutions.
- Implement monitoring systems to proactively detect and prevent hardware issues.
- Collaborate with other teams to optimize server and storage performance, capacity, and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for consolidation and other improvements to reduce resource usage.
- Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Generate reports on hardware performance, usage, and resource allocation.
- Implement security measures to protect hardware infrastructure from external threats.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of disaster recovery and redundancy solutions for hardware systems.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. ATP Hybrid IT Solution, Server+).
- Familiar with Cisco CCNA.
- Proven experience in hardware engineering, particularly with servers and storage systems with a minimum of two years in the field.
- Strong knowledge of server and storage hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, hard drives, and RAID configurations.
- Proficiency in server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with datacenter infrastructure design, power and cooling considerations, and rack management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
