Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst to extract insights from transaction data, banking APIs, and account statements. A key focus of this role will be analyzing bank-generated account statements and ensuring that our internal transaction data aligns with them. The ideal candidate will work closely with finance, product, and engineering teams to optimize financial reporting and system performance.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Data Analysis: Track direct-debit payments, identify trends, and monitor transaction success and failure rates.
Payment System Performance Monitoring: Work closely with Technical Product Managers and analyze API logs, response times, and error rates to optimize banking integrations.
Account Statement Reconciliation: Analyze bank-generated statements and compare them with internal transaction records to identify discrepancies and enhance reconciliation processes.
Fraud & Risk Detection: Identify anomalies in transaction data to help mitigate fraud risks.
Business Intelligence & Dashboards: Develop reports and dashboards for finance, product, and operations teams using BI tools, especially with Metabase.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in fintech, banking, or financial services.
Strong skills in SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), or R for data analysis.
Experience with bank account statement analysis and reconciliation.
Familiarity with APIs and data scraping using APIs.
Ability to work with financial and transactional data to identify discrepancies.
Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, or similar).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
