
Role Overview
As the Business Line manager (BLM) at Okala, you will act as the mini-CEO for your assigned business line (e.g., Chain store, Corner shop). You will own the strategy, P&L, product assortment, pricing, and performance of your line. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, Commercial, and Tech, you’ll ensure your line grows sustainably while aligning with Okala’s overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Ownership
· Define and execute short- and long-term growth strategies for the assigned business line.
· Monitor business trends, customer behavior, and competitor moves to shape direction.
· Collaborate on the annual planning process including budgeting, forecasting, and OKRs.
P&L Management
· Own full P&L responsibility for the business line, driving revenue growth and profitability.
· Optimize pricing, promotions, and margins in coordination with the Pricing and Finance teams.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
· Set KPIs and monitor business performance using dashboards and analytics.
· Take corrective actions based on sales trends, customer feedback, and operational bottlenecks.
· Run A/B tests on promotions, pricings to improve results.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work with Marketing for campaigns and seasonal strategies.
· Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure service level and availability targets.
· Align with Product & Tech teams to improve customer journey and conversion rates in your Business line.
Leadership & Communication
· Act as the main point of contact and champion for your business line internally.
· Mentor and guide junior specialists or analysts if applicable.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
· 4+ years of experience in category management, business ownership, or e-commerce operations.
· Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· Hands-on attitude with the ability to manage ambiguity and change.
Success Metrics
· Revenue growth and gross margin improvements in the business line.
· Execution of strategic initiatives on-time and within budget.
· Customer satisfaction, Conversion and retention rates for the Business line.
