Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Abalon, you will be part of our dynamic web team, collaborating closely with both front-end and back-end developers to design, develop, and implement highly scalable and reliable cloud-based web applications. Your technical leadership will be crucial in driving the architectural direction, ensuring a seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems while mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities:

● Lead the design and development of web-based software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across the entire stack.
● Architect and implement innovative web systems, balancing speed of delivery with technical debt management, and working closely with front-end and back-end teams to ensure seamless integration.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, data science, infrastructure, and UX/UI teams, to align web solutions with business goals and customer needs.
● Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, reviewing code and promoting high coding standards across the web team.
● Identify and implement best practices for software development, cloud architecture, and web-specific technologies, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies
● Work closely with front-end engineers to ensure responsive, performant, and user-friendly web applications, while ensuring efficient backend integration.
● Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues, optimizing both client-side and server-side performance.
● Stay updated with the latest trends in web development, cloud computing, and related technologies to continuously enhance the product offerings at Abalon.

Requirements:

● 5+ years of professional experience in web application development, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based applications.
● Proven expertise with cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies such as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices.
● Proficiency in full-stack development with deep knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end frameworks, particularly Python and Django.
● Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures, with hands-on experience in integrating these components in complex web systems.
● In-depth experience with NoSQL and relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
● Familiarity with event-driven systems and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automated testing.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize both web performance and system architecture.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment, particularly in a cross-team setting.
● Passion for mentoring and helping junior engineers grow, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
● A solid understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
