Key Responsibilities:

• Own the full ML lifecycle: from exploratory data analysis to modeling, experimentation, deployment, and long-term monitoring.
• Design statistically sound experiments and drive A/B testing culture to evaluate product features and ML models.
• Develop and refine optimization, machine learning, and statistical models to solve key business challenges and unlock new opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define metrics, guide decisions, and embed data thinking into product development.
• Dive deep into user behavior, operational data, and system performance to uncover actionable insights.
• Champion customer obsession by identifying upstream data issues, improving usability, and designing solutions that serve both internal and external users.
• Stay curious: research new frontiers, validate their impact, and share findings with the broader team.
• Contribute to internal tooling, best practices, and frameworks that make data science at Jabama more efficient, reproducible, and scalable.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience applying data science to real-world problems in a commercial environment.
• Proven track record of working across the full modeling lifecycle—from discovery and data wrangling to deployment and monitoring.
• Strong foundations in mathematics, linear algebra, optimization, statistics, and stochastic algorithm design.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, with experience in Go, Scala, or other back-end languages being a plus.
• Experience building and interpreting machine learning models (e.g., regression, tree-based models, embeddings, clustering).
• Comfort working with large and messy datasets; understanding of data pipelines and data quality fundamentals.
• Familiarity with A/B testing platforms, metric design, and impact evaluation at scale.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset—aligned with bias for action and an iterative approach to problem solving.
• Strong sense of ownership—you take initiative, communicate proactively, and see projects through to impact.
• Experience mentoring others and helping teams level up through feedback and knowledge sharing.
• BSc or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Excellent English communication skills—clear, thoughtful, and collaborative.
