We’re looking for a seasoned Python back-end engineer to own the design, development and operation of our AI-driven healthcare platform. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to architect and build highly reliable, secure and scalable microservices that handle sensitive medical data and integrate with complex AI workflows.

What You’ll Do
Lead architecture & design of new services, defining clear interfaces, data flows and system boundaries.
Develop and maintain FastAPI-based microservices, ensuring high performance, reliability and test coverage.
Drive data layer strategy, modeling and tuning both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational stores (MongoDB, Redis).
Build and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), container images (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or similar).
Implement security best practices: threat modeling, OWASP compliance, RBAC/ABAC, encryption at rest/in transit, vulnerability scanning.
Design and operate comprehensive monitoring, logging and alerting using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), plus metrics collection (Prometheus/Grafana).
Champion observability, instrumentation and structured logging to enable rapid troubleshooting and capacity planning.
Mentor and partner with mid-level and junior engineers: conduct design/code reviews, share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
5 + years professional Python back-end development, with at least 3 years building production-grade FastAPI services.
Deep expertise in system architecture: microservices patterns, event-driven design, service mesh concepts.
Proven experience modeling and operating SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
Strong background in CI/CD, Docker and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes).
Hands-on knowledge of security (OWASP Top Ten, JWT/OAuth2, TLS, secret management).
Solid understanding of monitoring & observability: ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing.
Expertise with asynchronous task queues (Celery, RabbitMQ) and caching strategies (Redis).
Excellent communication skills and a track record of mentoring and technical leadership.

Nice to Have
Domain experience with healthcare standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR).
Experience with DevOps automation and infrastructure reliability (Chaos Engineering, SRE practices).
