Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our remote data team. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and scalability of our data infrastructure, which supports all trading, analytics, and reporting functions across the firm. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining efficient data pipelines across ClickHouse, MariaDB, and OpenSearch, and delivering clean, reliable datasets for reporting and analysis through Microsoft Power BI.

As a key member of the data team, you will report directly to the Data Team Manager and collaborate closely with quant researchers, developers, and business stakeholders.

 
Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow DAGs, integrating data from ClickHouse, MariaDB, and OpenSearch.
Develop performant and optimized queries in ClickHouse for large-scale analytical workloads.
Ensure data consistency, reliability, and quality across all systems to support real-time trading insights and risk monitoring.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver datasets for reporting in Power BI.
Monitor data pipeline health, resolve data discrepancies, and implement best practices for system observability.
Maintain documentation and contribute to data governance, security, and version control efforts.
 
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in fintech, trading, or other data-intensive industries.
Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing.
Expert-level knowledge of ClickHouse, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Solid experience with Airflow for orchestrating complex data workflows.
Hands-on experience preparing and integrating data for use in Microsoft Power BI dashboards.
Strong understanding of SQL and relational/columnar database principles.
Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
 
Preferred Skills

Familiarity with MariaDB/MySQL and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
Exposure to trading systems, financial instruments, or time-series data processing.
Experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, or other cloud-native technologies.
