Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in engineering, particularly in reading and interpreting technical drawings and bid documents. The ideal candidate will play a key role in estimating, material takeoffs, and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Understand and interpret bidding documents (typically 50–100 pages).
• Accurately define the scope of work based on the provided documentation.
• Identify and extract required materials along with their specifications.
• Calculate the estimated material quantities needed for the project.
• Communicate with suppliers across Canada to obtain material pricing and availability.
• Use Microsoft Excel to perform calculations and organize data.
• Complete and format Microsoft Word documents for formal estimation submissions.
• Ensure all estimation and documentation are accurate and professionally presented.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in the engineering or construction field (construction or industrial sectors preferred).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent English skills (reading, writing, and speaking) are essential.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively manage relationships with suppliers.
• Familiarity with Canadian suppliers and market pricing is an asset.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
