Job Description

Job Purpose 

The Project Controller, as a member of the PMO Team, will provide support to the operational team by gathering, analysing, and reporting project data throughout all stages of the consulting project lifecycle. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet the required quality standards, contributing to the overall profitability and success of the business.

Scope of Work

  • Cost Control Support: Assist in monitoring budgets, tracking actual costs, and preparing simple cost forecasts under guidance. Help process purchase requisitions and invoices;
  • Schedule Tracking: Update and maintain project schedules, track milestones, and flag potential delays for the Project Controller or PMO Manager;
  • Change Support: Record and track approved change requests (Variation Orders) and their impacts on scope, schedule, and cost;
  • Resource Tracking: Support in monitoring resource allocation and utilisation, and report any issues to the PMO team;
  • Reporting Assistance: Help prepare basic reports and update dashboards to provide visibility on project progress;
  • Risk Awareness: Assist in identifying potential risks in the schedule or resources and escalate them to senior team members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support tracking of project budgets and actual costs and assist in preparing cost reports;
  • Update project schedules and assist with incorporating changes under direction from senior staff;
  • Help with project reviews, documentation, and maintaining accurate project records;
  • Assist in collecting and compiling data for performance reports and Power BI dashboards;
  • Support resource allocation tracking and help resolve simple conflicts in schedules or assignments;
  • Learn and apply project management tools and methods while supporting PMO and operational teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic understanding of one or more project management methodologies;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to monitor project progress and report potential issues to senior staff;
  • Awareness of project financial control and basic accounting concepts;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment;
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with other MS Office tools;
  • Extensive knowledge of the Engineering projects;
  • Financial project-related reports preparation;
  • Power BI experience.
  • Responsible and accountable for duties delegated.
  • Collaborative and problem solver.
  • Proactive in anticipating potential issues.
  • Quick learner.
  • Team worker within the PMO team
