Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable databases on PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other major platforms.
Optimize complex queries, troubleshoot database performance issues, and apply best practices for query tuning, indexing, and schema design to ensure efficiency in high-load environments.
Manage and scale PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, including replication, backups, disaster recovery, and high-availability setups.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database performance, observability, and reliability using monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
Perform root cause analysis of database incidents and implement permanent fixes to minimize downtime and optimize performance in mission-critical environments.
Automate database management tasks through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Support on-call rotations, responding rapidly to database-related incidents and events to minimize downtime and impact.

Experience with financial services databases.
Experience with large-scale, multi-terabyte databases in production.
Strong understanding of observability practices.
