FTTx Planning & Optimization Engineer (Vendor)

Roles & Responsibilities:

•    To interface with providers of FTTx planning and liaise with subcontractors and third-party organizations to ensure effective fiber TX infrastructure planning delivery.
•    To monitor implemented FTTx network performance and turn-key vendors in assigned projects.
•    To go on frequent site visit and survey prior to planning and post planning to ensure the designed routes are executable and viable, yet revise as per terrain situation.
•    To provide the proper FTTx planning and delivery of physical connectivity according to topology and plan.
•    To ensure adherence to appropriate build specifications for FTTx deployments in the network
•    To implement appropriate operational procedures for all FTTx deployments.
•    To ensure high availability of FTTx for routes implementation.
•    To monitor the process of building additional capacity for transmission Infrastructure using appropriate technologies (fiber, microwave) or leased facilities.
•    To monitor and guide the implementation programs of turn-key providers based on assigned projects for planning the fiber transmission infrastructure network.
•    To implement, coordinate and identify fiber TX infrastructure requirements in line with new technologies (route sizes, etc.).
•    To collaborate with the material and optimization team to track new sites integration and check how best to integrate them to the current fiber route as new FTTS.
•    To design FTTS specifications based on the company’s MW requirements.
•    To consult with FTTx vendors to deliver the projects based on the detailed design specification and escalate possible issues to the manager.
•    To utilize knowledge of GPON/XGPON networks and standards, including Active & Passive parts, FTTx projects’ material, and their specifications, and propose innovation and new tools and approaches to automate and optimize the tasks. 
•    To plan FTTx based on the GIS-based software such as QGIS/ArcGIS; while staying aligned with OSS and GIS team to execute FTTx data entry into related software and keep them updated.
•    To plan optimized ODN (Optical Distribution Network) based on the latest international experience, including optimized Material selection, Splitters placement, PON port assignment, and last mile part. 

Education:

•    B.Sc. Degree in Telecommunication /Electronic engineering / Information Technology or related degree to job, such as GIS.

Experience:
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fiber transmission infrastructure planning and implementation environment, with experience in supervising others
•    Experience working in a medium organization
•    Experience in FTTX project design and implementation.
•    Thorough grounding in the requirements of a GSM network in terms of all transmission requirements
•    Experience in a rapid roll-out environment and management of turn-key vendors
