We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer to create, maintain, and standardize our internal and external documentation using Atlassian Confluence. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing skills, a good understanding of software development or IT processes, and experience building well-structured documentation systems that enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, and maintain Confluence spaces, pages, and templates for technical and non-technical teams.
- Write, edit, and update clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for processes, systems, architecture, APIs, and project standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to gather information and translate complex technical details into accessible documentation.
- Establish and enforce documentation standards, and style guidelines to ensure consistency across all Confluence content.
- Manage page hierarchies, permissions, and version control within Confluence.
- Support the creation of knowledge bases, onboarding guides, and process manuals.
- Continuously improve the information architecture and searchability of Confluence content.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to keep documentation accurate and up to date.
- Assist with integrating Confluence with Jira and other tools for traceability and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, or Knowledge Manager using Atlassian Confluence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and information management skills.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them clearly to different audiences.
- Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Jira, diagrams (e.g., draw.io), and document templates is a plus.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT systems preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Experience creating API documentation, architecture diagrams, or developer guides.
- Knowledge of Confluence macros, automation, and plugin customization.
- Experience in knowledge base design or information architecture.
- Familiarity with knowledge governance and versioning practices.
