Network Synchronization Engineer (Vendor)

Mission
·       To plan, establish, and optimize the appropriate Network Synchronization, in line with the network topology plan and capabilities of technology.
Roles & Responsibilities
·       To monitor and advice on clocking system and timing protocol for all network elements working in company network to ensure service availability and standard compliance. 

·       To support rapid growth of synchronization method and implement it in company network in appropriate time to ensure functional and effective network elements syncronization

·       To resolve low quality of synchronization within company network to maintain various elements synched, reduce sync-related incidents, and meet MTTR targets.

·       To provide fit-for-purpose Synchronization solutions for different parts of company network.

·       To identify 3rd party synchronization solutions and support matching synchronization plans in interconnection areas to improve cost-efficiency without sacrificing timing performance.

·       To resolve and support all network synchronization technology within the company, such as TDD, TDD 2300, GSM, GPRS, Edge/+, 3G, LTE, 5G, and corporate network to ensure standardization and lifecycle support.

·       To ensure adherence to the appropriate build specification for different types of synchronization deployment in the network.

·       To implement appropriate operational procedures for all clocking methods across the network to enable repeatable operations and reduce human-error incidents.

·       To track availability and performance of network clock sources and ensure the runtime health to minimize fallbacks and holdover events.

·       To coordinate the implementation of the Network Timing Protocol for all vendor Equipment to ensure interoperability with no timing-related service impact. 

·       To balance Synchronization source capacity and quality against requirements such as NTP, PTP, etc., and demands from multiple BSS, NSS, Core, Transmission, IN, ITS, vendors, and internal customers to prevent congestion or degradation during growth and peaks.

·       To provide alternative synchronization solutions for remote sites to eliminate single points of failure.

·       To schedule the contractors installing the Synchronization equipment and ensure that targets are achieved in terms of safety, quality, and speed.

·       To monitor and provide optimization plans for each province by local sync sources. 

·       To optimize Synchronization network and re-use and modify previous plans considering Technology and material limitations due to limited available vendors for these devices based on sanctions.

·       To provide secure and clear Source plans in each province (City-based).

·       To execute operational tasks (daily, weekly), provide solutions for raised issues, and follow up till complete resolution. 

·       To coordinate with planning and operation teams to find the best way to provide efficient and robust solutions for TDD and 5G sites to meet advanced timing requirements for new rollouts.

 
Job Requirements
 

Education
·        B.Sc. in Telecommunication /Electronic Engineering
 

Experience
·       3 years of experience in a Synchronization planning and implementation environment 

·       Thorough grounding in the requirement of a GSM network in terms of all transmission requirements

·       Experience in a rapid roll-out environment and management of turn-key vendors

·       Experienced in RAN planning and implementation with over 2 years in telecom network deployment and optimization

·       Experience in MW operation and implementation

·       Proficient in Linux environment and Python scripting
