NYOP is a European deep-tech company building the world’s first Environmental Intelligence Platform for hospitality, residential spaces, and commercial environments.

We design intelligent hardware—LegBelt, AirIntel, and upcoming sensing devices—paired with predictive algorithms such as BioOps, forming a cohesive system that helps indoor spaces understand, diagnose, and respond to the world around them.

We are now introducing Nio: a humanized, elegant, exosome-inspired character that embodies NYOP’s intelligence layer across hardware, software, motion, and storytelling.

Your work will define how NYOP feels—visually, emotionally, and interactively—for millions of people.

 
Role: Senior Motion Designer 

We’re looking for a world-class Motion Designer & Brand Illustrator to bring Nio to life, build NYOP’s iconography system, and craft the motion identity that will appear across our entire product ecosystem.

This role sits at the intersection of:

illustration
character design
motion graphics
product UI animation
storytelling
micro-interaction design
You will create the visual soul of NYOP.

 
What You’ll Own

1. Character Creation
Develop Nio: shape language, personality, expressions, poses
Create character sheets, motion rigs, and behavioral rules
Produce variations of Nio for hardware, software, and marketing contexts

2. Motion Identity
Define how motion behaves across the NYOP platform
Design micro-interactions (loading states, transitions, sensing animations)
Animate data flows, environmental signals, and system behaviors
Deliver Lottie-, Rive-, or code-driven animations for product and brand

3. Iconography System
Build a unified icon library for hardware and software
Create simple, accessible, premium icons
Develop state-based icons (active, error, sensing, standby)

4. Brand Illustration
Spot illustrations for dashboards, onboarding, and manuals
Abstract visualizations of algorithms, IAQ signals, and environmental particles
Scene-based illustrations featuring Nio interacting with NYOP products
Marketing and storytelling graphics for web and pitch decks

5. Product Storytelling
Animated explanations of sensor mechanics and data interpretation
Visual sequences for user onboarding and customer education
Story-driven micro-videos tailored to hospitality and enterprise partners
 
What We’re Looking For

Must-have

Strong expertise in character design (rounded, expressive, human-like)
Ability to create premium, cohesive brand illustration systems
Mastery of motion design using After Effects, Rive, Lottie, or Blender
Experience designing icon systems for digital products
A portfolio demonstrating warmth, elegance, personality, and restraint
Ability to merge tech + biology + design into a clean, modern aesthetic
A sense of visual taste aligned with brands like Stripe, Airbnb, Notion, PostHog, Dropbox, MIT Media Lab

Bonus

3D modeling for mascot development
Procedural animation (p5.js, Three.js, GSAP, Rive)
Experience with hardware UI + motion
