Senior Security Engineer

Wallex is seeking a Product Security Engineer who is passionate about identifying potential security weaknesses and creating innovative solutions to address them. Your expertise will be at the core of our security initiatives, ensuring the protection of Wallex products and the privacy of our users.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with our development teams to identify key risks and vulnerabilities, while designing and implementing effective security controls and solutions.

 
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
• Conduct threat modeling and integrate security into the SDLC.
• Train development teams on security processes and best practices.
• Audit and review application code from a security perspective.
• Participate in security issue management and incident response processes.
• Support and guide development teams in executing security-related activities.
• Research and benchmark security best practices across the industry.
• Stay up to date with new vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and countermeasures, particularly within the fintech and cryptocurrency sectors.

 
Requirements

• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as OWASP Top 10.
• Hands-on experience securing web applications (e.g., penetration testing, red team/blue team activities, CTFs).
• Software development experience in one or more languages (PHP, Golang, NodeJS, etc.).
• Previous experience in the financial, fintech, or cryptocurrency industries.
• Experience implementing security in a fast-paced software development lifecycle.
• Desire to automate processes using modern scripting languages or automation tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated security testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with code auditing is a plus.
