We are looking for a Back-end Developer to join one of SEP’s fast-growing ventures. In this role, you will work on the technical core of a scalable e-commerce platform, contributing to systems where reliability, performance, and data integrity truly matter. You will be involved in everything from API development and asynchronous processing to architectural design and solving real-world scalability challenges. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and Django.
• Implement and evolve event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Design and maintain asynchronous processing pipelines with Celery and Redis.
• Design, optimize, and execute database schemas, migrations, and complex queries in Postgres.
• Collaborate on building and maintaining a Docker-based infrastructure.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to solving complex technical challenges, including:
• Concurrency and high-throughput scenarios
• Data consistency across distributed services
• Designing scalable and multi-tenant architectures
• Actively participate in architectural decisions and technical solution design.
• Provide technical leadership through mentorship and code reviews.
• Balance code quality with delivery speed in a startup environment.
• Own features end-to-end, from design and implementation to production performance.

Requirements:

• 2 to 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
• Experience working with Kafka or other message brokers.
• Hands-on experience with Celery and Redis.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, especially Postgres.
• Experience using Docker in development or production environments.
• Solid understanding of scalability, software architecture, and distributed systems.

Nice to Have:

• Interest or experience in AI-augmented development (Vibe Coding)
• (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, etc.)
• Experience or interest in Elasticsearch and search optimization for e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with AI / LLM APIs.
• Experience or familiarity with Java.
• Experience with high-throughput services using Spring Boot.
