Job Description

Role Summary:

The Publisher Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring media opportunities to expand the advertising publisher network. This role includes building and maintaining relationships with media partners, negotiating and closing contracts, and ensuring effective ad placement across websites. The specialist works closely with the Growth team to maximize reach, increase brand visibility, achieve campaign objectives, and drive overall business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with marketing and account teams to understand client needs (campaign objectives), target audiences, and budget constraints
  • Conduct market research to identify effective advertising media across the web and analyze competitors’ activities
  • Develop publisher acquisition plans, including proposed media channels, budget allocation, and estimation of incremental inventory added to the ad network based on acquisition budget and business team capacity

Negotiation & Media Acquisition

  • Prepare and send customized ad creatives to target publishers
  • Negotiate pricing, ad placements, cost models, and added value (such as bonus impressions or sponsored content) to maximize the efficiency of the publisher acquisition budget
  • Lead media deals from initial contact to contract finalization and ensure proper ad delivery and placement on acquired publishers

Publisher & Media Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with publishers and digital platforms
  • Act as the main point of contact for media partners and manage communications and potential issues
  • Provide publisher support and resolve issues via phone and ticketing systems

Publisher Management & Optimization

  • Monitor active campaigns across the publisher network to ensure proper execution and alignment with company KPIs
  • Analyze performance data (impressions, clicks, conversions, CPA, etc.) across different publishers and optimize ad placements in terms of format, visibility, delivery volume, and overall performance

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present daily and monthly reports on the publisher network and available inventory capacity
  • Calculate ROI and evaluate the effectiveness of different channels and media
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for future publisher acquisition and media growth strategies based on platform and market data

Qualifications & Requirements:

Negotiation & Communication Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
  • Proven negotiation skills when working with media and publisher opportunities

Data-Driven Mindset

  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
  • High attention to detail and the ability to identify improvement opportunities to increase ad placement efficiency
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced features such as formulas, Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUP

Digital Advertising & Media Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of digital advertising principles
  • Ability to calculate and evaluate key metrics such as CPM, CPC, CPA, and ROI
  • Familiarity with media planning and the digital media ecosystem
  • Experience with ad servers, DSPs, and social media advertising platforms

Strategic & Creative Thinking

  • Ability to manage multiple publishers simultaneously and handle publisher support inquiries
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to operational challenges
  • Familiarity with media planning and developing strategies to grow publisher networks

Experience & Education

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience is a plus, including roles such as:
  • Media Planner / Media Buyer
  • Digital Marketing Specialist
  • Account Manager (Advertising Agencies)
  • Publisher Acquisition / Publisher Development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field is a plus
