Job Description

Mission
·       To monitor, troubleshoot, track, and report networks and systems within regions to ensure the integrity of the operation of MTNIrancell Network.

·       To monitor/control the day-to-day activities including BSS, RAN, and Facilities implementation in remote BSC/RNC while support the Technical Operations Manager.

·       To ensure optimal performance, availability, and maintenance of the RAN (Radio Access Network) infrastructure, including 4G LTE and 5G technologies.

·       To enforce SLA on Managed Service providers and ensure on time resolution of request to avoid downtime and other NW problems.


Roles & Responsibilities
·       To communicate and keep resolution track of technical details related to issues with the MTNIrancell Network Maintenance team, technical support organizations, vendors, and management teams.

·       To provide proactive network monitoring and follow established procedures when responding to network alarms and events.

·       To provide awareness of quality and safety within the region and ensure compliance based on international standards.

·       To ensure RAN, BSS, and facilities equipment in remote BSCs/RNCs are operational, and support to escalate for troubleshooting and follow up with respective vendors or parties based on SLAs/OLAs, both internally and externally.

·       To ensure regional installations are within the MTNIrancell agreed standards and that the remote BSC /radio environment is kept clean and tidy.

·       To monitor the Network RAN performance against national and vendor KPIs/SLAs.

·       To submit operational issues for the MTNIrancell Network maintenance team and ensure a successful resolution.

·       To follow up on issues raised by the vendor within the related trouble ticketing system and ensure a successful resolution.

·       To support the Regional Operations Manager in coordinating the vendors and related project managers for the rollout.

·       To follow up with vendors on any related outstanding issues and ensure a successful resolution.

·       To maintain ongoing communication within the team (of regional engineers) and externally to keep all stakeholders, aware of relevant, known issues and steps being taken.

·       To support the Regional Operations Manager in meeting the objectives of the Region and to meet the national and vendor KPIs in a broader perspective.

·       To provide a detailed report of network status to the Regional Operations Manager, and Senior Management as per instructions.

·       To coordinate and troubleshoot network events pushing internal teams and external vendors to meet the challenges in providing a continuously superior quality network and satisfy the needs of MTNIrancell customers.

·       RAN-Specific Responsibilities: 

o   To monitor and optimize RAN performance metrics (e.g., call drop rates, handover success rates, signal quality) and take proper action.

o   To arrange with optimization team for drive tests and analyze results to identify coverage and capacity issues.

o   To monitor and ensure issue-free RAN configuration parameters (e.g., antenna tilt, power settings, frequency planning).

o   To troubleshoot and resolve RAN-related faults (e.g., cell outages, hardware failures).

o   To plan and execute RAN software upgrades in coordination with vendors.

o   To perform preventive maintenance on RAN equipment (e.g., cleaning, inspections, testing).

o   To ensure RAN sites comply with technical and safety standards.

o   To monitor and optimize energy consumption of RAN equipment. 

o   To collaborate with RF planning and core network teams for end-to-end network performance.
Job Requirements
 

Education
·       B.S degree in in Technology Systems (Telecommunication Management / Information Technology / Electronics) or related discipline
 

Experience
·       Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising others

·       Experience working in a medium organization 

·       Experience in telecommunication, a technical organization that support network operations and operational experience (including creation of processes and project management) is preferred

·       Hands-on experience in RAN operation and maintenance, including troubleshooting, optimization, and performance monitoring.
