Data Scientist (NLP)

About the Position

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the AI team at MCINEXT, where we focus on designing and delivering impactful AI-driven products and solutions. In this role, you will work on a wide range of Natural Language Processing (NLP) challenges, from training and fine-tuning language understanding models (such as text embeddings) to fine-tuning and deploying generative models (including Large Language Models).

This position offers the opportunity to work close to real-world, production-level AI systems. You will be involved across the full lifecycle of machine learning solutions, including data collection, model development, evaluation, deployment, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

- Design, train, and fine-tune NLP models
- Develop and evaluate language understanding and generation pipelines for real-world use cases
- Collect, preprocess, and curate datasets for NLP tasks
- Perform prompt engineering and prompt tuning to improve model performance and reliability
- Serve machine learning models and integrate them into production environments
- Implement and maintain production-ready code for AI systems
- Evaluate model performance using appropriate quantitative and qualitative metrics
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end AI solutions
- Document experiments, models, and workflows, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team


Requirements

- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and take ownership of tasks
- Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python, including familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts
- Familiarity with NLP concepts and models, including Transformers, BERT, and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Hands-on experience with common ML and data science libraries such as PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, scikit-learn, NumPy, and Pandas
- Basic familiarity with software development and deployment concepts, including Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
