Job Description

Job Summary
The Ericsson Back Office Engineer is responsible for the remote operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization support of RAN nodes using Ericsson tools and processes. The role ensures high network availability, fast incident resolution, and continuous performance improvement across 2G/3G/4G/5G networks.

 
Responsibilities

  • Be available for 24/7 operational support, including on-call duty and emergency incident handling to ensure continuous network availability.
  • Perform fault isolation and corrective actions on BSC, RNC, eNodeB, and gNodeB.
  • Execute configuration changes and scripts and other Ericsson tools.
  • Support software upgrades, license management, and feature activation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks and health audits.
  • Analyze logs, counters, and performance data to identify root causes.
  • Coordinate with field operations and customer teams for incident resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with change management and operational procedures.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports, incident summaries, and RCA documentation.

 
 Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Ericsson RAN architecture across 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE), and 5G (NR).
  • Hands-on experience with Ericsson OSS tools such as ENM, OSS-RC, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Execute configuration changes and scripts using MOSHELL and other Ericsson tools.
  • Solid understanding of RAN KPIs (Accessibility, Retainability, Availability, Mobility, Throughput).
  • Experience analyzing counters, traces, and logs for fault isolation and RCA.
  • Knowledge of LTE and NR , radio parameters, and feature behavior.
  • Good understanding of IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing basics).
  • Experience with software upgrade procedures, patching, and license handling.
  • Working knowledge of alarm handling, ticketing systems, and SLA management.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (Shell, Python) are an advantage.
  • Understanding of change management and operational processes in telecom environments.

Soft Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple incidents.
  • 3+ years of experience in Ericsson RAN operations, NOC.
  • Experience in multi-vendor environments is an advantage
