We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer who enjoys solving real product challenges and improving the product alongside the team, with a strong focus on clean code, sound architecture, and end-to-end ownership across delivery and production reliability.

Expectations & Responsibilities
As part of our development team, you will:

• Build and ship new backend features that solve real user and product needs.
• Refactor and improve existing code to increase maintainability, scalability, and development speed.
• Take ownership of production readiness: monitoring, logging, database performance, and operational reliability.
• Develop a deep understanding of the product and users, and actively participate in product improvement discussions.
• Collaborate closely with the squad to deliver team goals effectively.
• Support the customer support team by addressing technical tickets and investigating issues when needed.
• Use AI tools to improve development workflow, speed, and quality.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Hard Skills:
  • Django Framework: Deep understanding and hands-on experience building production-grade web applications.
  • Python: Ability to write clean, idiomatic, maintainable code with strong engineering practices.
  • PostgreSQL: Strong knowledge of databases in production, query optimization, performance tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting.
  • Background processing: Familiarity with asynchronous/background task execution in Python/Django (e.g., Celery or similar patterns).
  • Docker & basic DevOps: Comfortable working with Docker, core DevOps concepts, and Linux environments.
  • Git: Hands-on experience with Git and strong understanding of its core concepts, including workflows, branching strategies, and rebasing.
  • Frontend familiarity (Nice to have): Experience with frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript is a plus.
  • Rust (Nice to have): Experience with Rust is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find solutions for complex challenges.
