Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and proactive Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Scientist at Koocafe, you will work with large-scale data, advanced analytics, machine learning models, and modern data science tools to generate actionable insights, improve business performance, and enhance the Koocafe platform.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, business, and data teams to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and statistical models to analyze complex datasets and generate actionable business insights.
• Build predictive models to forecast business outcomes, optimize operational processes, and support strategic decision-making across different departments.
• Develop and apply feature engineering techniques to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and performance of machine learning models.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, business, and data teams to understand business challenges and translate them into effective data science solutions.
• Clean, preprocess, validate, and organize raw data from multiple sources to ensure it is suitable for analysis, reporting, and modeling.
• Develop machine learning models for classification, regression, clustering, recommendation systems, forecasting, and other relevant use cases.
• Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, RMSE, AUC, and other statistical measures.
• Optimize models for real-world performance, scalability, reliability, and business impact.
• Create clear and insightful dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Automate repetitive data processing, reporting, and analytical workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Deploy machine learning models into production environments and monitor their performance over time.
• Work with cloud platforms and data infrastructure to support scalable data science and machine learning workflows.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, AI, and analytics to continuously improve Koocafe’s data capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and best practices for data science projects.

Requirements:

• High level of English, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong background in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with data science and machine learning libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or similar tools.
• Solid experience in building and deploying machine learning models for classification, regression, forecasting, recommendation systems, and NLP tasks.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying databases and working with structured data.
• Experience with data wrangling, preprocessing, feature engineering, and working with large or unstructured datasets.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data processing, model deployment, and scalable analytics.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and model evaluation techniques.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying data-driven opportunities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with big data tools and distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Experience with deep learning techniques and frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of Natural Language Processing techniques such as sentiment analysis, text classification, embeddings, or language models.
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines for data collection, processing, storage, and model training.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, model monitoring, CI/CD for machine learning, and production model lifecycle management.
• Experience with data governance, security, and privacy best practices in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.
• Experience working with analytics, business intelligence, or customer behavior data.
• Ability to understand business goals and align data science solutions with measurable business outcomes.
• Previous experience working in agile development teams.
