As a QA Specialist, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and Ops to ensure the delivery of rock-solid features. You’ll own end-to-end test planning, execute both manual and automated suites, and act as the team’s first line of defense in production.
In this role, you’ll also be expected to:
Surface UX, data-flow, and performance risks early in the cycle
Drive clear bug triage and escalation
Champion a balance of speed and accuracy
Help refine user stories for testability
Contribute analytics-backed insights into our quality metrics
Key Responsibilities:
Test Design & Execution
Write comprehensive test plans and cases covering happy paths, edge cases, and negative scenarios
Peer review and maintain test documentation
Automation & Scripting
Build and maintain lightweight automation (e.g., smoke/regression scripts) integrated into CI
Troubleshoot flaky tests and mentor junior QAs on best practices
API & Service Testing / SQL & Log Analysis
Create automated API checks and perform ad-hoc post-deployment queries
Analyze logs and metrics to detect production anomalies
Bug Triage & Escalation
Lead daily triage calls, assign accurate severity levels, and coordinate resolution with Dev and PM teams
Interaction & Responsiveness
Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives; raise potential UX/data risks early
Keep the team board and backlog updated; suggest workflow improvements
Prioritize tasks effectively to balance depth and velocity, ensuring sprint goals are met
Product Collaboration & Communication
Refine user stories for testability and highlight trade-offs between speed, quality, and product impact
Present QA metrics (e.g., defect trends, coverage gaps) in sprint reviews and roadmap discussions
Continuous Improvement & Mentorship
Propose process improvements (e.g., risk-based testing, release checklists)
Share knowledge through brown-bag sessions and peer mentoring
Must-Have Qualifications:
2–4 years of QA experience in an Agile product environment
Strong skills in test design: writing manual test plans, checklists, and edge-case scenarios
Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, REST-assured)
Comfortable writing SQL queries and analyzing application logs
Excellent verbal and written communication; able to translate technical issues into product terms
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset—anticipating risks before they become issues
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with production monitoring tools (alerting, dashboards)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
Exposure to product analytics tools (e.g., Metabase, Hotjar, etc.)
