Payment & Settlement Supervisor

About the Role

The Payment & Settlement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of payments, settlement operations, reconciliation processes, and settlement-related incident management to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and operational reliability.

This role plays a key part in maintaining transaction integrity within a high-volume fintech payment and settlement environment.

Key Responsibilities

Settlement Operations

• Supervise daily settlement execution and payment processing operations
• Ensure accurate and timely settlements with merchants, partners, and vendors
• Monitor transaction life cycles and settlement completion status
• Manage and oversee Payment, Settlement, and Reconciliation processes
• Monitor daily financial transactions and bank settlements
• Control settlement cycles and ensure financial accuracy
• Record, control, and monitor financial documents related to payment and settlement operations

Reconciliation & Controls

• Manage reconciliations between internal systems, payment gateways, banks, and financial records
• Investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies and transaction disputes
• Maintain operational controls to ensure payment accuracy
• Identify and resolve financial and operational mismatches

Incident Management

• Coordinate settlement-related incidents with Product, Technology, Operations, and Treasury teams
• Follow up on payment exceptions and failed transactions
• Escalate critical operational risks when necessary
• Collaborate directly with PSPs, banks, and internal teams

Team Leadership

• Lead and support settlement operations specialists
• Oversee workload distribution and operational team performance
• Improve operational discipline and process consistency
• Manage and guide the financial operations team

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Identify operational inefficiencies and automation opportunities
• Support scalability improvements in settlement processes and controls
• Prepare management and operational reports for the Finance leadership team
• Optimize financial and operational processes

Requirements

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in payment operations, settlement, reconciliation, or fintech operations
• Experience working in high-volume transaction environments is a plus

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of payment cycles and settlement processes
• Experience with reconciliation and operational controls
• Familiarity with banking operations and payment gateways
• Data analysis and reporting skills
