What You'll Do
As a Technical Lead, you will serve as the technical representative and engineering leader for one or more product squads. You will work closely with product, AI, data, and design to transform ideas into scalable products and startups.

In addition to hands-on software engineering, you will be responsible for shaping technical direction, evaluating product feasibility, defining architectures, estimating delivery efforts, and guiding engineering teams through execution.

Because we operate as a venture studio, you will play a critical role during the earliest stages of product development — helping validate ideas, define technical roadmaps, select appropriate technologies, and determine the team composition required to successfully build and scale products.

You will act as the bridge between product goals and technical execution, ensuring that products are built efficiently, pragmatically, and with long-term scalability in mind.


Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Product Strategy

• Act as the primary technical representative for a product squad.
• Collaborate closely with product stakeholders to assess the technical feasibility of new product ideas and initiatives.
• Serve as the bridge between the product team and the engineering team, ensuring alignment between product goals and technical execution.
• Define technical roadmaps, implementation plans, architecture strategies, and technology stacks for new products and initiatives.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate frameworks, libraries, infrastructure, and development approaches based on product requirements.
• Provide accurate engineering effort estimates, delivery timelines, staffing requirements, and technical risk assessments.
• Identify technical dependencies, bottlenecks, and scaling challenges early in the product lifecycle.
• Guide engineering teams through architectural decisions while empowering engineers to own implementation details.

AI-Native Product Development

• Design and build AI-powered systems using modern LLMs, agentic workflows, retrieval systems, automation pipelines, and orchestration frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and platforms, identifying opportunities to improve product capabilities and engineering productivity.
• Establish best practices for integrating AI technologies into production systems.
• Help teams leverage AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering tooling effectively.

Team Leadership & Execution

• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to engineers across disciplines.
• Coordinate with frontend, backend, DevOps, AI, data, and product contributors to ensure successful product delivery.
• Identify capability gaps within teams and determine when specialized expertise is required.
• Participate in hiring, technical interviews, onboarding, and engineering growth initiatives.
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, technical excellence, and pragmatic decision-making.

Hands-On Engineering

• Contribute directly to the design, development, and maintenance of production systems.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, internal platforms, and supporting infrastructure.
• Review code, architecture, and technical designs to ensure maintainability, reliability, and scalability.
• Support deployments, production troubleshooting, observability, and system reliability initiatives.
• Ensure engineering teams deliver clean, testable, and production-grade software.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives and guiding engineering teams through product delivery.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and scalable system design.
• Ability to define technical roadmaps, implementation strategies, and engineering plans for new products.
• Experience estimating project scope, delivery timelines, engineering effort, and team composition.
• Strong familiarity with modern AI tooling, LLM ecosystems, agentic workflows, AI-assisted development practices, and production AI systems.
• Broad engineering knowledge across backend, frontend, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud platforms, databases, and software delivery practices.
• Ability to identify missing technical capabilities, make informed trade-offs, and delegate effectively to specialists when necessary.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript ecosystems.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, or Datadog.
• Experience with asynchronous systems, messaging platforms, and task queues (Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, Kafka, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience building AI-native products, AI agents, RAG systems, or LLM-powered applications.
• Experience working in startups, venture studios, or fast-moving product organizations.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices.
• Experience evaluating new markets, validating product ideas, and participating in early-stage product discovery.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity and rapid iteration.
