- The candidate should be able to monitor and analyze utilization and capacity of Microwave links, Ethernet ports, IP RAN nodes, POIs, Drop Points, aggregation nodes, and other transport network elements. The role requires identifying congestion risks, high-utilization links and interfaces, reporting them through the relevant operational processes and tools, and following up until capacity expansion or issue resolution is completed and verified.
- The engineer will be responsible for daily performance analysis, including investigation of Frame Loss, Packet Loss, throughput degradation, interface errors, CRC, FEC, discards, SESR, and other transmission performance indicators. The candidate must be capable of performing end-to-end root cause analysis and identifying the impact of transmission issues on RAN KPIs and overall network performance.
- Responsibilities also include continuous monitoring of Microwave link quality parameters such as RSL, modulation, availability, and license status, preparing periodic performance and utilization reports, maintaining dashboards, and identifying abnormal traffic patterns or capacity growth trends.
- The candidate should be able to compare live network data with planning and inventory databases (such as Atoll and MTN operational databases), identify discrepancies in capacity, configurations, naming conventions, topology, and link parameters, and follow up on corrective actions with relevant teams.
- In addition, the role involves monitoring router and transport network health, including CPU, memory, and interface utilization, investigating IP RAN and transport-related performance issues, validating interface descriptions and configurations, and ensuring visibility of critical network parameters such as QoS, synchronization, and service configurations.
