Role Overview We are looking for a Backend Tech Lead to lead the technical delivery of backend capabilities within a cross-functional Business Line. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You will work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Frontend Engineers, and Backend Developers to ensure that enterprise ERP capabilities are delivered in alignment with the approved architecture, security standards, release requirements, and long-term engineering direction. You will act as the technical extension of the CTO within the Business Line: translating architectural direction into practical implementation, guiding developers, controlling technical quality, and ensuring releases are ready for UAT and Production. Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical design, implementation, and evolution of backend services using modern .NET, DDD, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and appropriate design patterns.
Translate product requirements, epics, and user stories into clear technical designs, domain boundaries, API contracts, event flows, implementation plans, and delivery milestones.
Ensure the CTO-approved architecture, ADRs, platform standards, coding conventions, security rules, and integration patterns are consistently applied across the team.
Guide the design of event-driven and workflow-based solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Wolverine, and where needed MassTransit; ensure correct use of CQRS, event sourcing, idempotency, retries, outbox patterns, eventual consistency, and long-running process orchestration.
Lead PostgreSQL design decisions including data modeling, transaction boundaries, migrations, indexing, query performance, and data consistency.
Establish and enforce standards for observability, including structured logging, telemetry, metrics, distributed tracing, correlation IDs, health checks, dashboards, and alerting.
Ensure Secure by Design, Secure Coding, OWASP principles, Keycloak-based authentication and authorization, least privilege, secrets management, and auditability are applied throughout delivery.
Mentor Backend Developers through technical refinement, code review, pair programming, architectural guidance, and structured feedback.
Lead technical alignment across Product, QA, DevOps, Frontend, and Backend teams; identify dependencies, architectural drift, technical debt, delivery risks, and security risks early.
Own technical release readiness across Development, Test, UAT, Staging, and Production environments, including quality gates, migration validation, release checklists, rollback plans, monitoring readiness, and post-release verification.
Coordinate with DevOps and Product teams to ensure infrastructure, access, configuration, secrets, service accounts, integrations, database changes, message broker resources, and environment prerequisites are ready before release.
Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate architecture clarification, implementation planning, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, and incident analysis while enforcing human review and quality controls.
Required Skills
5+ years of backend development experience, including technical leadership responsibility.
Strong hands-on experience with C#, modern .NET, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
Strong practical knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, modular architecture, SOLID principles, and enterprise software design patterns.
Strong experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, CQRS, event sourcing, idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, and failure recovery.
Hands-on experience with Wolverine is strongly preferred; familiarity with MassTransit is valuable.
Experience designing or integrating workflow engines and business process orchestration, including approvals, state machines, task management, SLA handling, escalation, exceptions, and audit trails.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning, transactions, schema evolution, indexing, and migrations.
Practical experience with logging, monitoring, telemetry, tracing, health checks, alerting, and production troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of OWASP, Secure by Design, Secure Coding, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, RBAC, service-to-service authentication, and Keycloak.
Good understanding of Linux and operating-system fundamentals relevant to backend services and production environments.
Ability to translate architecture into delivery practices, mentor developers, make sound technical decisions, and communicate clearly in English.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ERP, logistics, shipping, finance, billing, pricing, or other complex enterprise platforms.
Experience working with on-premise environments, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kibana, Jaeger, Tempo, or similar tooling.
Experience with EDI, external APIs, partner integrations, or enterprise system integrations.
Experience establishing governed AI-assisted engineering practices, including repository instructions, reusable prompts or skills, AI-assisted code review, and quality guardrails.
What We Expect
You remain hands-on while providing clear technical leadership.
You prevent architectural drift without becoming a delivery bottleneck.
You help developers understand the business domain, not only implementation tasks.
You provide the CTO with confidence that releases entering UAT and Production are technically ready, secure, observable, validated, and supported by rollback and operational plans.
You turn AI-assisted development into a repeatable, controlled, and quality-focused engineering practice across the Business Line.
