Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a QA Lead / Quality Engineering Lead to lead quality practices, test strategy, automation capability, and release quality across Admiral’s enterprise ERP platform.
This role combines hands-on quality engineering with team leadership. You will lead QA Engineers, establish reusable automation frameworks and testing standards, and work closely with Product, Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and Tech Leads to ensure that releases are reliable, secure, traceable, and ready for UAT and Production.

We are looking for a QA Lead / Quality Engineering Lead to lead quality practices, test strategy, automation capability, and release quality across Admiral’s enterprise ERP platform.
This role combines hands-on quality engineering with team leadership. You will lead QA Engineers, establish reusable automation frameworks and testing standards, and work closely with Product, Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and Tech Leads to ensure that releases are reliable, secure, traceable, and ready for UAT and Production.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the overall QA strategy, test pyramid, quality standards, test governance, and release-quality criteria across Business Lines.
- Lead, mentor, and develop QA Engineers in manual testing, API testing, automation, exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and quality analysis.
- Design and maintain the core automation test framework, reusable libraries, test utilities, fixtures, test data strategies, reporting standards, and CI/CD integration.
- Establish automation coverage for API, UI, integration, regression, workflow, role/permission, real-time, and event-driven scenarios.
- Ensure test automation is scalable, maintainable, stable, and usable by multiple QA Engineers and delivery teams.
- Review requirements, epics, workflows, and acceptance criteria to identify quality risks, missing scenarios, testability concerns, and release dependencies early.
- Define quality gates for Development, Test, UAT, Staging, and Production environments, including smoke, sanity, regression, security validation, migration validation, and post-release checks.
- Lead release readiness reviews and provide clear quality recommendations for UAT and Production releases.
- Work with DevOps and Tech Leads to ensure test environments, test data, CI/CD pipelines, observability, logs, monitoring, access, and infrastructure prerequisites are ready.
- Establish Jira-integrated test management practices for test cases, execution cycles, traceability, defects, coverage, dashboards, and release evidence.
- Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, quality metrics, recurring-defect analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use AI-assisted testing responsibly to improve test design, test artifact generation, automation development, defect analysis, log analysis, and coverage assessment while enforcing human validation and quality evidence.
- 5+ years of experience in QA, Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Testing, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong experience in functional, exploratory, smoke, sanity, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, compatibility, negative, boundary, and release validation testing.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks using Python, pytest, Playwright, requests/httpx, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience building reusable automation architecture, test utilities, fixtures, test data management approaches, reporting mechanisms, and CI/CD test execution pipelines.
- Strong understanding of frontend, backend, API, database, workflow, integration, and event-driven testing.
- Experience testing Kafka or RabbitMQ-based workflows, retries, idempotency, eventual consistency, and failure-recovery scenarios.
- Experience with Jira and test management platforms such as Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, qTest, Azure Test Plans, or similar tools.
- Experience testing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, RBAC, Keycloak-based SSO, permissions, secure session behavior, and OWASP-related scenarios.
- Practical experience with logs, monitoring, telemetry, tracing, production diagnostics, and release troubleshooting.
- Strong ability to mentor QA Engineers, define standards, review test artifacts, and improve team capability.
- Strong communication, prioritization, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Experience with ERP, logistics, shipping, finance, pricing, billing, workflow, or other complex enterprise platforms.
- Experience with performance testing using Locust, k6, or similar tools.
- Experience with contract testing, database validation, test data management, and service virtualization.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kibana, Jaeger, Tempo, or similar observability tools.
- Experience establishing AI-assisted testing practices, shared prompt libraries, test-generation workflows, and quality guardrails.
- You remain hands-on while building a scalable QA and automation capability for the organization.
- You ensure QA is involved from requirement analysis through production validation, not only at the end of development.
- You create reusable automation foundations rather than isolated test scripts.
- You help QA Engineers grow while maintaining consistency, discipline, and measurable quality standards.
- You provide the CTO with confidence that releases entering UAT and Production are validated, traceable, secure, and supported by clear quality evidence.
