About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Back-End Developer to join our growing technology team. This is a project-based role offering the opportunity to work on innovative web applications, AI integrations, and cloud-based solutions within a collaborative international environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimising secure, scalable back-end systems and APIs while working closely with front-end developers, AI specialists, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable back-end applications.
• Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs.
• Develop, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Integrate AI-powered services and third-party systems.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Implement security best practices and ensure data integrity.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise application performance.
• Maintain technical documentation, process diagrams, and change logs.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, AI engineers, QA teams, and infrastructure specialists.
• Participate in regular development meetings and contribute to ongoing technology improvements.
• Mentor junior developers or interns where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

• Proven commercial experience in back-end software development.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Django.
• Experience with PostgreSQL database management.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience using Git/GitHub, Pre-Commit, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of software architecture, algorithms, and performance optimisation.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure development practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are essential.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Docker and containerisation.
• Knowledge of WebSockets and real-time applications.
• Experience integrating AI or machine learning services.
• Familiarity with automation tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience working within international or distributed teams.
