At Okala, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who will take ownership of reliability, automation, and scalability across our production environments. In this role, you will design resilient infrastructure, enhance deployment efficiency, and strengthen system stability. With a hands-on and solution-oriented approach, you will drive operational excellence and ensure high availability, performance, and security of our services at scale.


Responsibilities:

• Deploy updates, patches, and fixes while providing advanced technical support.
• Design and build automation tools to reduce errors and enhance system stability and customer experience.
• Perform root cause analysis on production incidents and resolve complex technical issues.
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive operational tasks.
• Design and maintain procedures for system troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and establish effective communication to drive issues toward resolution.
• Configure, automate, and maintain monitoring and alerting systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support 24/7 operational environments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Linux system administration and management.
• Excellent scripting skills in Bash or Python.
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Deep understanding of container orchestration, especially Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with messaging and streaming platforms (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar).
• Proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented mindset.
