Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to design, develop, maintain, and improve enterprise-grade applications built with Python.
The role is primarily backend-focused and requires strong hands-on development skills, architecture awareness, problem-solving ability, and experience working with complex business workflows, integrations, and data-driven systems.
Previous experience with Frappe Framework or ERPNext is a strong advantage but is not mandatory. Candidates with solid Python backend experience and the ability to quickly learn framework-specific concepts are encouraged to apply.
Experience with frontend development, particularly Vue.js, is also considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and business applications using Python.
- Implement business rules, workflows, APIs, background jobs, integrations, and data-processing components.
- Review and improve existing code for security, performance, maintainability, and scalability.
- Design database schemas, optimize queries, and manage migrations and data changes.
- Develop integrations with internal and external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous processing.
- Write unit, integration, and regression tests for critical functionality.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and other technical stakeholders.
- Support containerized development and deployment environments.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and development productivity.
Required Skills- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong backend development experience with Python.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, modular design, clean code, and software design principles.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and system integrations.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MariaDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with database schema design, indexing, transactions, migrations, and query optimization.
- Experience with Redis, caching, queues, or asynchronous processing.
- Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development.
- Familiarity with Docker, Docker Compose, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand and improve an existing codebase.
- Good written and verbal technical communication skills.
Preferred Skills- Hands-on experience with Frappe Framework or ERPNext.
- Experience developing custom Frappe applications.
- Familiarity with Frappe DocTypes, controllers, hooks, workflows, permissions, background jobs, reports, and migrations.
- Experience with enterprise applications, ERP systems, or workflow-driven platforms.
- Experience with Vue.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Vue 3, Composition API, Vite, or Tailwind CSS.
- Experience with automated testing using pytest or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with application security, authentication, authorization, OWASP practices, and secrets management.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with infrastructure automation or infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and loosely coupled system design.
AI-Assisted DevelopmentExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, Cursor, or similar tools is highly valued.
The candidate should be able to use prompt engineering, structured technical instructions, and effective context definition to improve code generation, debugging, testing, documentation, and overall development quality.
