Overview

Alibaba’s Legal Team is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Legal Intern to support the team’s day-to-day legal operations while gradually developing practical skills in litigation, contracts, and business law.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the management and follow-up of litigation matters and legal proceedings;
• Following up on debt recovery cases, particularly claims and enforcement actions involving cheques;
• Filing and tracking petitions, legal briefs, formal notices, enforcement applications, court notifications, and other judicial submissions through the Sana system and Judicial Electronic Services Offices;
• Monitoring court deadlines and keeping case records and action trackers up to date;
• Registering, organizing, and following up on legal correspondence and administrative matters;
• Maintaining physical and electronic records of contracts, litigation files, minutes of meetings, correspondence, and other legal documents;
• Recording and controlling the receipt, delivery, and movement of original documents and evidence;
• Preparing and conducting an initial review of contracts, amendments, and minutes of meetings;
• Drafting legal briefs, formal notices, and legal correspondence;
• Reviewing and summarizing case files, contracts, court decisions, and other legal documents;
• Supporting the team in other litigation and contract-related matters.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in Law is required;
• Master’s students and graduates in Law are also welcome to apply;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Availability to work on-site three fixed days per week.

Internship Structure

• On-site attendance three days per week, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.;
• First stage: a one-month agreement followed by an initial performance review;
• Second stage: a two-month agreement, subject to a positive review;
• Third stage: a three-month agreement, subject to satisfactory performance;
• The maximum duration of the internship is six months;
• Extension to each stage will depend on the intern’s performance and the Legal Team’s needs.
