Data Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for financial market applications. This role is open to junior and mid-level candidates.

This role is focused on practical engineering impact. The ideal candidate enjoys building reliable, well-structured data systems that power analytics, machine learning, and real-time decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines for financial and market data
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery of data
• Model, structure, and optimize data storage across databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and correctness across all pipelines
• Support ingestion and processing of real-time market data
• Help monitor pipelines and troubleshoot data issues in production
• Collaborate with AI engineers, backend engineers, and research teams to deliver clean, analysis-ready data

Required Skills

• Strong Python programming skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar)
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines or data workflows
• Understanding of data modeling, schema design, and query optimization
• Familiarity with a distributed data processing framework such as Apache Spark (or similar)
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and good technical communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow)
• Experience with streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Interest in financial markets and time-series data
