Job Description
Responsibilities
At Capzy, we are looking for engineers who think beyond simply implementing designs. We value people who understand why a feature is being built, challenge unnecessary complexity, care deeply about the user experience, and take ownership of the systems they develop.
You should be comfortable working on technically challenging interfaces where React performance, browser behavior, real-time state, media processing, and product UX intersect.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications for Capzy, an AI-powered video creation and subtitle platform used to process and edit media directly in the browser.
- Take end-to-end ownership of front-end features, from architecture and technical design through implementation, release, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Build complex, interactive product experiences using React.js and TypeScript, with a strong focus on maintainability, reusability, and clean component architecture.
- Develop and optimize interfaces for video uploading, subtitle editing, timeline-based interactions, media processing workflows, real-time progress updates, and AI-powered features.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Back-End, AI, and Infrastructure teams to turn product requirements into reliable and polished user experiences.
- Build responsive interfaces that work consistently across modern browsers, screen sizes, and devices.
- Maintain high standards for performance, accessibility, usability, and visual consistency.
- Identify and resolve front-end performance bottlenecks, particularly in pages involving large datasets, media assets, complex state, and frequent UI updates.
- Improve our front-end architecture, shared component systems, engineering standards, testing practices, and developer experience.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions as Capzy continues to scale.
- 5+ years of professional Front-End software engineering experience, preferably working on complex SaaS or product-focused applications.
- Strong expertise in React.js and its ecosystem.
- Deep knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong understanding of React concepts including component architecture, hooks, state management, rendering behavior, memoization, and reusable UI patterns.
- Experience designing and maintaining large-scale front-end architectures, rather than only implementing individual pages or UI components.
- Strong understanding of browser internals and front-end performance, including:
- Rendering and re-render optimization
- Network and asset optimization
- Lazy loading and code splitting
- Caching strategies
- Core Web Vitals
- Memory and CPU usage in complex browser applications
- Experience building smooth and performant animations and interactions using CSS, JavaScript, and modern animation libraries.
- Experience working with REST APIs, asynchronous workflows, real-time communication such as WebSockets, and complex client-side state.
- Strong understanding of responsive design and modern UI implementation techniques.
- Familiarity with web accessibility (a11y) standards and best practices.
- Solid understanding of front-end security topics such as XSS, CSRF, authentication flows, secure token handling, CORS, and browser security constraints.
- Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, design patterns, clean code, and maintainable system design.
- Comfortable debugging complex production issues using browser developer tools, application monitoring, logs, and error-tracking platforms.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows, code reviews, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and product stakeholders.
- Ability to balance engineering quality, product requirements, performance, and delivery speed.
- Experience building video editors, audio/video applications, timeline-based interfaces, or browser-based creative tools.
- Familiarity with browser media technologies such as HTML5 Video, Canvas, Web Workers, WebCodecs, Media APIs, or FFmpeg/WebAssembly.
- Experience working on products involving AI-generated content, transcription, subtitles, translation, or media processing.
- Experience with large file uploads, resumable/chunked uploads, object storage, and media delivery.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Sentry, analytics platforms, and performance monitoring systems.
- Experience working in a fast-growing SaaS product where engineers have significant ownership over both technical and product decisions.
