Ecotrust is a personal investment and asset management platform that helps individuals make more informed financial decisions by analyzing their financial situation, risk tolerance, and asset allocation.
Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design test scenarios, test cases, and test data covering functional, regression, integration, smoke/sanity, exploratory, and UAT testing.
Perform API testing (Postman, Swagger, or SOAP-UI) covering request/response validation, status codes, and basic authorization checks.
Log, prioritize, and track defects to closure in Jira, writing clear reproduction steps, environment/build details, and supporting evidence.
Validate data correctness with SQL (and where relevant, NoSQL) queries as part of test verification.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, and coordinate with Product, Backend, and Frontend engineers to clarify requirements and confirm fixes.
Maintain our test plans, test-case repository, and bug reports as living quality documentation.
Support release activity: smoke-testing builds in staging, verifying fixes before sign-off, and flagging regressions before deployment.
Contribute ideas for improving our QA process and test coverage.
What You'll Need
2+ years of hands-on experience in QA / software testing.
Solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Practical knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke/sanity, exploratory, and basic non-functional testing.
API testing fundamentals with Postman or Swagger, and a working understanding of REST concepts (status codes, JSON payloads, basic authentication, etc.).
SQL fundamentals for data verification.
Working knowledge of Git for version control and day-to-day collaboration with the engineering team.
Comfort with a bug-tracking / test-management tool such as Jira.
Strong attention to detail, methodical documentation habits, and a questioning mindset toward unclear or incomplete requirements.
