We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize the database infrastructure behind our product. This role combines hands-on database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security, backup and recovery, and close collaboration with the engineering team to ensure our product remains reliable, scalable, and high-performing as it grows.
Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain production SQL Server databases.
• Proactively monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, blocking, deadlocks, and critical alerts.
• Optimize queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans, and overall database performance.
• Manage SQL Server high availability, backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues, resource bottlenecks, and production incidents.
• Manage database security, access control, auditing, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with development teams on schema changes, migrations, and high-impact queries.
• Operate and maintain ClickHouse analytical databases.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ETL and data pipelines using Airflow.
• Operate and support Metabase reporting and analytical workloads.
• Maintain database documentation, recovery procedures, monitoring standards, and operational runbooks.

Required Qualifications

• Strong production experience as a SQL Server DBA (minimum 5 years).
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, execution plans, statistics, and T-SQL.
• Strong understanding of locking, blocking, isolation levels, deadlocks, and wait statistics.
• Strong experience with database monitoring, alerting, and performance diagnostics using tools such as Redgate SQL Monitor or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server HA/DR, including Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong experience with backup, restore, recovery testing, and database disaster recovery.
• Experience managing large databases, partitioning, capacity planning, and data growth.
• Experience with database security, permissions, auditing, and access control.
• Experience operating ClickHouse or similar analytical databases.
• Experience maintaining ETL/data pipelines using Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience operating and supporting Metabase or similar reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with CDC, replication, and data synchronization concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.
