AI Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on AI engineer to research, prototype, and build AI solutions for a large-scale banking environment.

This is not an academic ML research role. We are looking for an experienced engineer who understands AI models, software architecture, and production systems, and can turn emerging technologies into reliable working solutions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new AI models, APIs, and technologies and determine where they are actually useful.
• Understand the strengths, limitations, and appropriate use cases of different LLMs, multimodal models, embedding models, and other AI technologies.
• Design and build AI/LLM applications, RAG systems, agents, and automation workflows.
• Rapidly prototype solutions, validate them technically, and turn successful prototypes into robust services.
• Integrate AI capabilities with APIs, databases, enterprise applications, and internal systems.
• Build and deploy services independently using Python, Docker, and our on-premise infrastructure.
• Apply sound system design and software architecture principles to AI solutions.
• Evaluate solutions for accuracy, consistency, latency, scalability, cost, and security.
• Work with emerging tools such as n8n and other AI/automation platforms where they provide practical value.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills and experience building real applications/services.
• Solid understanding of system design, software architecture, APIs, databases, distributed systems, and deployment.
• Strong practical understanding of Generative AI and modern AI models — not just API usage.
• Ability to determine which model/approach should be used for a given problem and why.
• Hands-on experience with concepts such as RAG, embeddings, vector search, tool/function calling, agents, and prompt engineering.
• Experience building Python APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Experience with Qdrant or other vector databases.
• Familiarity with n8n or similar workflow/automation platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, Git, and CI/CD; comfortable deploying and troubleshooting your own services.
• Familiarity with .NET / enterprise application architecture and the ability to integrate Python-based AI services into a .NET ecosystem. .NET development experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, investigate unfamiliar technologies quickly, and deliver working solutions without requiring step-by-step direction.

Strongly preferred

• Experience building and deploying AI systems used by real users.
• Experience evaluating models using structured testing, benchmarks, or real-world data.
• Experience with LLM APIs and open-source models.
• Experience with AI orchestration/automation tools such as n8n.
• Experience working with high-scale or reliability-sensitive systems.
• Understanding of AI security, data privacy, hallucination, prompt injection, and model reliability.

We are looking for an engineer who can go beyond "I used an LLM API." You should be able to understand the technology, choose the right approach, design the system, build it, deploy it, and make it reliable.
