International Sourcing & Import Senior Specialist

About the Role:

We are looking for an International Sourcing & Import Senior Specialist with at least 3 years of relevant experience in import, export, customs operations, and international sourcing. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and following up on import and export processes, handling customs clearance activities, coordinating with international suppliers and partners, and ensuring compliance with applicable trade, foreign exchange, banking, and customs regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and develop international suppliers based on business requirements and manage the international sourcing process.
• Conduct international market research, identify potential sources of supply, and collect and compare commercial proposals from suppliers.
• Negotiate and communicate with international suppliers regarding pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, shipping terms, and other commercial conditions.
• Manage and follow up on the end-to-end import process, from sourcing and order registration through customs clearance and final delivery.
• Handle and follow up on all customs clearance activities for both import and export shipments.
• Review, verify, and complete commercial and shipping documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Order Registrations, and other required documentation.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on customs declarations and all related customs clearance procedures until the goods are released.
• Follow up on obtaining required permits and approvals from the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade (MOI), National Standard Organization, inspection companies, laboratories, and other relevant authorities.
• Calculate and verify customs duties, import tariffs, taxes, and other costs associated with imports and customs clearance.
• Monitor shipment status from arrival in the country through customs release and final delivery.
• Maintain continuous coordination with customs authorities, transportation companies, freight forwarders, warehouses, inspection companies, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure that import and export processes comply with applicable customs, trade, foreign exchange, banking, and logistics regulations.
• Monitor and stay up to date with changes in import, export, customs, and international trade regulations.
• Prepare and provide periodic reports on order status, shipments, customs clearance processes, import costs, and supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to import, export, sourcing, and customs operations.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Import/Export, Customs Operations, International Trade, or International Sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of the end-to-end import process, from order registration to customs clearance and final delivery.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures and preparation and submission of customs declarations.
• Proficiency in NTSW (Comprehensive Trade System), EPL, and the Comprehensive Warehouse System.
• Strong knowledge of customs, commercial, and international trade laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with foreign exchange regulations and banking processes related to international trade.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms and familiarity with ICC rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with international transportation processes and import/export logistics.
• Familiarity with the requirements of the National Standard Organization, inspection companies, and relevant laboratories.
• Experience in obtaining required permits and approvals from the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade (MOI) and other relevant authorities.
• Strong capability in international sourcing and identifying and evaluating international suppliers.
• Proficiency in English, particularly in business correspondence and commercial negotiations.
• Ability to prepare operational and analytical reports.
