Job Description

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely recording of financial transactions. This role manages key accounting activities, supports month-end and year-end closing, maintains compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, and strengthens financial controls and reporting quality.

Responsibilities:

• Record, review, and validate accounting entries in the financial system.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities according to the agreed timetable.
• Prepare and review general ledger, bank, supplier, customer, intercompany, and other balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Maintain schedules for accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets, depreciation, and other accounting accounts.
• Prepare supporting documentation and working papers for financial statements.
• Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and local regulations.
• Support tax declarations, statutory reporting, and regulatory submissions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide accurate documentation and explanations.
• Review invoices, payment documents, expense records, and financial supporting documents.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue or unresolved items.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by providing accurate historical accounting data.
• Identify weaknesses in accounting processes and recommend improvements to controls, documentation, and system workflows.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in sales accounting or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and sales-related financial processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
