Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer who combines strong hands-on backend development with the ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architectures. The ideal candidate can make sound technical decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and take ownership of systems from design through production.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using TypeScript / Node.js and Python.
• Design system architecture, APIs, data models, and service-to-service communication.
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and maintainable production systems.
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, and overall engineering quality.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture reviews, and contribute to technical standards.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and take ownership of root-cause analysis.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js and solid professional experience with Python.
• Strong experience in system design and software architecture.
• Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, message queues, caching, scalability, idempotency, and fault tolerance.
• Experience designing and developing production-grade REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL; familiarity with Redis and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Practical experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Claude.
• Ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated output for code quality, security, correctness, and maintainability.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM-powered applications, AI Agents, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and tool/function calling.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience using AI tools effectively for coding, debugging, code review, documentation, and developer productivity.
